Welcoming and homely

About us

Easton Pre-School is a small setting and we have a very welcoming and homely approach. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage which brings together a number of guidelines and practices into a single, coherent framework for the care and education of children from 0 to 5 years.

There are seven areas of learning and development that shape educational programmes in early years settings. The three key areas are communication and language, physical development and personal, social and emotional development. Providers must also support children in four specific areas through which the three prime areas are strengthened and applied. These are: literacy, mathematics, understanding the world and expressive art and design.

We want to plan activities your child will enjoy so we welcome any information you can give on your child’s interests as well as any comments you have on how they are progressing .

We send termly emails about our themes and plans for activities with the children and there is regular information on the 'WOW' board inside Pre-School and the noticeboard in the entrance.

Each child has a Learning Journey which charts their development and you are welcome to see this whenever you like, but it will also be given to you to look at  at the end of the school year so you can see the progress they have made.

We have a member of staff appointed as the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO). Every effort is made to ensure that all children, whatever their needs, are to participate fully in pre-school activities.

Our friendly, experienced and committed staff hold a range of qualifications in early years education and have many years of experience. They are skilled in caring for children with differing degrees of educational needs as well as any with special needs.

Our staff keep their mandatory training of basic first aid, food and hygiene and safeguarding children courses up to date. They also undertake a number of additional professional courses designed to help keep Easton Pre-School's practice up to date and to continually develop.

We are always willing to discuss your child’s progress with you and to help you with any queries or concerns in any way we can. Please feel free to talk to us when you drop off or collect your child but if you would prefer a more private discussion we can arrange a time to suit you.

We endeavour to provide the highest possible level of care and education at all times, however, if you feel we have fallen short of this at any time please talk to the Pre-School Leader.
