Children

We recognise that every child is an individual and that each child will learn and develop at different rates. Our staff are receptive to individual children's needs and interests. We will discuss your child's development with you regularly and are always open to any concerns you may have about your child. Our activities are play-based with the emphasis on learning through play. We provide a rich open ended resourced environment in which children can engage in spontaneous play.
To deliver the early years' foundation stage curriculum we offer a wide range of malliable activities including water and sand play outside; paint, getting messy with gloop, playdough and many craft activities using natural resources collected from our woodland visits, are always available often in the form of a planned activity.
We provide opportunities for open ended play, imaginative and role play with construction, playing with 'Loose Parts' and natural resources. We have a small kitchen for role play, 'small world' play- 'Dinolandscape' with dinosaurs, farm animals and tractors, emergency vehicle and 'space/airport world', dolls house, a 'Den' where the children make it their own space and much more!
There are also plenty of mark making and construction activities to help develop hand to eye co-ordination. The children enjoy gardening, growing food and we incorporate seasonal and cultural activities into our play and activities such as Chinese New Year, Festival of Light, Christmas, Pancake Day(Mardi Gras), Mother's/Father's Day, Spring and Easter and anything to do with the weather and how it affects us.
We are lucky to be on the farm and we do get out and about. We take our collecting buckets with us on our walks around the Farm Park and the woodland areas collecting natural resources to use in our creations. We bottle feed new born lambs in the Spring and visit the Suffolk Punch horses, goats, peacocks, Guinea foul, ducks, pigs, cows and calves in the Mint Meadow, chicks and hatching eggs. We pet bunnies and guinea pigs and collect eggs from the hens. We pride ourselves in offering wonderful learning opportunities.
